Contact & When

It can be a stressful time when things don't go as planned at the park and it can be tricky to know exactly who to contact when things go wrong, or when accidents/serious injury happen. Below will help you know who to call, when to call and who is responsible for what in the park so its no longer confusing or stressful!

Parks 4 Paws

When to contact us, what we are responsible for and how we can help.

Parks 4 Paws' goal is to improve the park, it's safety and dog and human experience through education, enrichment areas and awareness. Parks 4 paws is there to help park users work through conflict, host education and training classes and sometimes if needed, be an advocate for park users and bridge the gap between park user and the city, passing along safety concerns, or maintenance needed on city controlled property. Parks 4 Paws will be responsible for the up keep, maintenance and liability on any piece of equipment installed in the park, such as agility equipment and the wind shelter and water fountain when those activities get installed in the park . If you have an issue with the equipment, suggestions or concerns about the park or need our assistance or advice please contact us!

City of Calgary

When to contact the City and what they are responsible for

The City of Calgary owns the land in and around Silver Springs Off Leash Dog Park. They are responsible for the up keep, maintenance and safety of the park. This includes, the fencing, gates, benches, trees and shrubberies care and up keep, mowing the grass, fixing holes, maintaining gravel pathway, emptying garbage cans, care and up keep of garbage cans, grading and repairing the parking lot, parking issues. If you have any issues with any of these things please contact 311. If you feel you are not making any head way with 311 then feel free to speak to a Parks 4 Paws member and we can help you reach out to the city to try and resolve the problem.

City Bylaw

When to contact City Bylaw and what they are responsible for

You should contact City Bylaw if you see an owner regularly not following park rules the city has set for all off leash dog parks (see list here) ie not picking up dog waste, aggressive dog regularly having issues with other dogs, owner does not have control over their dog, lets them remain out of control etc. And of course,  you should always contact City Bylaw immediately file a complaint if another dog has attacked your dog resulting in injury.
